My real day job is dreaming, it’s something that I’ve always done. Maybe I haven’t made that much of my life but I’m not hurting anyone I can sit behind a desk As the world of work decrees But can I stop my thoughts from drifting Onto the open seas Where our schooner hits the shore Of a distant map-less isle And mermaids lie in repose, Calling me to rest a while, rest a while, rest a while My real day job is dreaming, it’s something that I’ve always done. Maybe I haven’t made that much of my life but I’m not hurting anyone And my boss in on the phone Important it must be How come I’m always busy finding other places to be free I’ve got lots of things I’d like to do And words I’m trying to find My body’s in the room But you have lost my mind, lost my mind, lost my mind. They say are you listening? And I try so hard.

Hey old friend, I’d like to thank you for your company Hey old friend, I’ll see you on the other side of the river A roller coaster a vale of tears A whirlwind of disappearing years You bring the sunshine. I’ll bring the beer We’ll grab ourselves some shade Hey old friend, I’d like to thank you for your sanity Hey old friend, I’ll see you on the other side of the river Like King Canute held back the tide Bon voyage see you on the other side You bring the stories. I’ll take a ride We’ll grab ourselves some time. Hey old friend, I’d like to thank you for your alchemy Hey old friend, I’ll see you on the other side of the river Hello, hello, you haven’t changed It’s been too long, it’s been too long.

They put a man on the moon A reason on a rhyme But only you can put a woman on my mind I’ve been six months alone on this island Guess I was dropped from the sky I’ve been telling the mosquitoes about you As they’re drinking me dry I sit here and cry They put a man on the moon A reason on a rhyme But only you can put a woman, a woman, a woman, on my mind I imagine I’m rescued and brought home With my beard down to the floor In my suit made of seaweed and palm leaves I knock at your door… Like I’m washed up on your shore They put a man on the moon A reason on a rhyme But only you can put a woman on my mind Too much time on my hands. Until then I’ll just keep myself busy Hoping you remember my name There’s a bird that keeps singing the old songs He’s keeping me sane I know it’s hard to explain. They put a man on the moon A strange voodoo on mankind But only you can put a woman , a woman, a woman on my mind

This is the day that no one ever thought would come There is no terra firma underneath the sun This is the morning when we cease to rule the earth Homo ridiculous will swim for all we’re worth I’m building a boat Come on board everyone the tide is rising Like Noah, afloat The only way you’ll see your home is by deep sea diving This is the day when turning back the clock has passed This is the day we see that nothings built to last So we are cast adrift to contemplate our fate The simple answer being we left it all too late I’m building a boat Come on board everyone the tide is rising Like Noah, afloat The only way you’ll see your home is by deep sea diving Save us all

Beyond the silence Beyond the emptiness of days. The old forgotten ways of falling forever. The dawn is a voice of light still lost In the hands of shade and fragile frost In those blind horizons never known My bones are air against the stone Caught in the dream, in the dream Caught in the dream, in the dream Beyond the silence Beyond the emptiness of days, the old forgotten ways of falling forever. The rain still bleeds across the sky and time so breathless, drifts on by. Cold echoes call, echoes call

The old romantics used to say That when the stars align Two reckless fools can hitch their souls to one another Until the end of time Astrology or astronomy It’s just the universe inside of you and me. I guess science will never know If love has a calculation They can search in every corner of the cosmos Still the answer with evade them We can see what will always be It’s just the universe inside of you and me. It’s as plain as the nose on my face that the whole human race Is part of the fabric of space…and love goes on.

Fuck Work 02:24
No more days of telling me what to do. You talk to me like I’m something on your shoe Take this job and stick it were the sun don’t shine It may be yours but your world isn’t mine I wont ever, ever work your work no more Fuck work, fuck work. You say jump but I wont ask how high I’m long gone got other fish to fry Taste that air it’s as sweet as a breeze can be See me walk it’s the walk of a man who’s free I wont ever, ever work your work no more Fuck work, fuck work. I do not judge myself by the world inside your head I do not judge myself by a world that’s lost its thread.

Loneliness is a one-man double bed Loneliness is the shadow in my head Thoughtlessness is a self-inflicted wound Thoughtlessness leaves you lonely in a room With nothing more than your own thoughts I sit at home every night, there’s nobody I want to call ‘cos since you disappeared from my life I’ve been waiting for the moon to fall. Emptiness is something you can’t describe Emptiness is all I feel inside Tenderness has faded from my mind Tenderness is not for my kind Who thought that trust was just a word. I sit at home every night, there’s nobody I want to call ‘cos since you disappeared from my life I’ve been waiting for the moon to fall.

The Forgiven 02:59
The waves came in hard, like flames off the sea And the raging calm of the sunset worked its power on me No way there to guess, no way there to hide We chartered a course for the reckless so the guilty could ride Set sail on a life, strange bedfellows we are. Look up to the sky, look down from a star I boarded a ship bound for nowhere, the captain said son you’re forgiven Welcome to the absurd, obscene, adorable nonsense of living. Lost from the crowd, he’s behind you they call A blind crow’s nest existence and you’re too high to fall I slipped down the blade, of a strange lightning host I raised my glass to good fortune And lost sight of the coast So polish my bones to feed to the beast Arrive at the banquet, a ghost at the feast I boarded a ship bound for nowhere, the captain said son you’re forgiven Welcome to the absurd, obscene, adorable nonsense of living. Set sail on a life, strange bedfellows we are. Look up to the sky, look down from a star

Trees can’t walk Fish can’t talk It’s a peculiar world Rocks can’t breath The dead can’t grieve It’s a peculiar world And the only thing that makes sense to me is you And the only thing my tired eyes can see is you Time won’t wait Believers still hate It’s a peculiar world The rain won’t dance We met by chance It’s a peculiar world When I think of all the faces I have known All those warm embraces all that skin and bone It’s a peculiar world And the only thing that makes sense to me is you And the only thing my tired eyes can see is you Victims aren’t seen Peace is a dream It’s a peculiar world Truth becomes lies Idiots are wise It’s a peculiar world When I think of these emotions I can feel All those deserts and oceans, it can’t be real It’s a peculiar world. And the only thing that makes sense to me is you And the only thing my tired eyes can see is you
